Worship Services are at 10:30 every Sunday.

First Congregational Church is the church on the corner. The corner of Park Ave. and Bushnell in Beloit, WI that is. First Congregational Church is one of the oldest congregations in Beloit, establishing Sunday, December 23, 1838. After time passed a new building was built only to have it burnt to the ground on a stormy night in August of 1998. Our present building opened up three years after the fire on August. 12, 2001.

Our Meeting House was never meant to be a symbol, but a place to meet on Sunday morning, for the Word to be preached, to hear the living God and a place for prayer to be offered.

We believe the character of our God is reflected in the building. Our building is plain, pure, clean, simple, and rich in history. We pride ourselves in a common simple motto, all are welcome. No matter where you are on life’s path, you are welcome.

Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 there is another Bible study following worship at 10:30 AM, it is on the Trinity, discussion will be from the book “The Shack.”

Sunday, November 13, 2011, 3 pm, the great German organist, Heinrich Walther, from Alsace-Lorraine, will once again perform on our magnificent large Rieger-Kloss organ.

Herr Walther will perform a large work by Franz Liszt, Weinen, Klagen, based on a lamenting phrase in one of Bach’s church cantatas, but interestingly, he will play BOTH original versions, the first on the piano (using our magnificent large Petrof grand), and the second on the organ. Then Herr Walther will perform his own transcription for organ of a large orchestral piece by Max Reger, Symphonic Prologue to a Tragedy, Opus 108. It will be an afternoon of lofty thoughts and sounds by an artist who is not only a deeply thinking craftsman but also a dazzling virtuoso.
